Although memory loss and confusion are associated with dementia and Alzheimer’s, research has shown that photographs, music and memorabilia from the past can trigger memories and provide a bridge for caregivers and loved ones to communicate and connect.
The Pass Christian Public Library will host a Memory Café with the theme “Meet Me At the Movies,” which is a way for people with dementia and their care partners to socialize and connect with others in a safe and supportive environment. The event, which is free and open to the public, will be held in the Conference Room of the Pass Christian Public Library at 1 p.m. on Friday, April 19.
The library is located at 111 Hiern Avenue. For more information, contact the library at 228-452-4596.
