OLLI at USM is partnering with the Pass Christian Library on a program

The Pass Christian Public Library is excited to partner with OLLI (Osher Lifelong Learning Institute) with the University of Southern Mississippi to host a program by Dr. Gregory Waselkov on “Indian Ditch of Gulf Shores, Alabama” on Tuesday, September 26th at 10am in the conference room of the Pass Christian Public Library (111 Hiern Avenue, Pass Christian, MS).   The presenter, Dr. Gregory Waselkov, will present his findings on the 1,400 year old Native American Canal in Southern Alabama.  He will discuss how the “nearly mile-long structure allowed inhabitants to paddle to rich fishing grounds and access trade routes.” Dr. Waselkov has a MA and a PhD in anthropology from the University of North Carolina-Chapel Hill and is head of the archaeology department at the University of South Alabama
