FR. LOUIS LOHAN SUNSET DINNER CRUISE OCT 19th

Fr. Louis Lohan will be guest of honor at a fundraiser for St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church on Saturday, October 19th. A “Sunset Dinner Cruise with Fr. Louis Lohan” will offer guests an opportunity to enjoy fellowship with the beloved priest, along with a catered dinner, live music and a beautiful South Mississippi evening on the water. The two-hour cruise boards at 6:30pm at the Ship Island dock in Gulfport Small Craft Harbor. Tickets are $125 per person. Space is limited.

“There are many things, people and places I miss (on the Gulf Coast),” recounts Fr. Louis, who pastored St. Thomas the Apostle in Long Beach for numerous years, retired and moved back to his homeland, Ireland, in 2015. “Although, I do not miss the hurricanes and the humidity, I certainly miss the fabulous sunrises and sunsets of the beautiful Gulf Coast. Praise God our Creator! Oh, how I’m looking forward to this dinner cruise!”

The purpose of the event is to help raise an initial amount to begin purchase and replacement of St. Thomas Church’s air conditioning chiller, which heats and cools the church, office complex and community center. “We are delighted that Fr. Louis is partnering with us to raise funds for St. Thomas,” remarked Fr. Satish Adhav, current pastor at St. Thomas. “The total estimated cost of the AC repair is $350,000, so our church is in high gear working to raise necessary funds before the system fails completely,” explained Fr. Satish. We are grateful for Ship Island Excursions and the Skrmetta Family, as well as restaurant owner Rob Stinson, for their support in helping us make this dinner cruise with Fr. Louis possible.” Fr. Satish and Fr. Braxton Necaise, Parochial Vicar at the parish, also plan to attend the dinner cruise.

Guests are invited to wear “island” or “parrot head” attire as they wine, dine and visit with the beloved guests of honor. Boarding for the cruise begins at 6:30pm and departure is at 7pm.
