LONG BEACH HISTORICAL SOCIETY CEMETERY TOUR

The Long Beach Historical Society invites the public to step back in time at the Annual Cemetery Tour on Thursday, September 18, from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. at the Long Beach City Cemetery located  at the intersection of Girard Avenue and 1st Street.

This community event brings history to life as members of the Long Beach Historical Society, alongside talented students from Long Beach High School, portray notable figures who shaped the  city’s past. Through storytelling and live reenactments, attendees will learn about the individuals and families who played a vital role in the growth and culture of Long Beach.

“The cemetery tour is not only a way to honor those who came before us, but also to connect our community with its roots,” said Courtney Cuevas-Welch, Vice President of the Long Beach  Historical Society. “It’s an engaging way for residents and visitors alike to discover the stories behind the names that built Long Beach.”

Admission to the event is free, though donations are appreciated to support the ongoing preservation of Long Beach’s history. Guests are encouraged to wear comfortable shoes and bring a sense of curiosity for an evening of history and storytelling.
