Kids and their families are invited to join forces at an upcoming event of fun where locals can meet law enforcement.

Long Beach’s annual Night Out Against Crime is set to take place on Saturday, October 25, from 5 to 7 p.m. at the Long Beach Town Green off Jeff Davis Avenue.

This is a free event that offers up plenty of activities the entire family can enjoy, including games, food and drinks, giveaways and more. Kids are encouraged to dress up for a costume contest for children ages infant to age seventeen.

In addition to community and public safety information booths, young ones and their families will also get the opportunity to meet and interact with Long Beach Police officers and other area first responders, who will be on hand to answer questions and listen to concerns, all in an effort to continue to build police trust and relations in the local community.

In addition, several other public safety organizations, civic groups and businesses will be on hand, manning booths to provide information to the public. Emergency vehicles will be on display for the kids to check out.

National Night Out Against Crime aims to heighten crime and drug prevention awareness, to generate support and participation of the community in preventing crime and to strengthen neighborhood spirit and police community relations.
