City Hall welcomes summer intern

Special to The Pass Post

Jacoby Johnson (right), a sophomore at Pass Christian High School, is working a summer internship at Pass Christian City Hall throughout the month of June.

Mayor Jimmy Rafferty has encouraged Johnson to attend weekly meetings of City departments, with the internship having a goal of allowing Johnson to learn the daily workings of City government, engage with the public, and use critical thought processes in tackling challenges. In addition to his summer internship, Johnson recently earned the rank of Eagle Scout for Pass Christian Troop 316.

He says he aspires to someday work in the political sector, helping to make communities stronger while providing excellent leadership. Pictured is Johnson working on his Eagle Scout project, which was a water safety class held at the Marsha Barbour Community Center.
