City of Long Beach Mask Update

Governor Tate Reeves signed an Executive Order eliminating the state-ordered mask mandates in every county starting March 3rd- Governor Reeves stated although not mandatory, all persons in Mississippi are encouraged to continue wearing face coverings while in public, avoid large indoor gatherings, maintain social distance, practice good hand hygiene, and stay at home if you feel sick.

The City of Long Beach has elected requiring a mask to enter any of our municipal buildings – City Hall, Long Beach Public Library, Long Beach Public Works, Long Beach Fire Department, Long Beach Police Department and Long Beach Senior and Activity Center. The health and safety of our customers and employees is paramount. We ask citizens and businesses owners to still follow the recommended CDC and Department of Health Guidelines.

City Hall is open you must wear a mask to enter the building and follow the recommended CDC guidelines. Please pay attention to posted signs on the doors when entering City Hall for directions.

Long Beach Police Department lobby is open. Please call the station at 228.863.7292. Don’t call dispatch for information that is a 911 emergency line.

Long Beach Fire Department lobbies are closed. Please call the station to make an appointment or to get a burn permit if they are being permitted - 228.864.8451.

Public Works office is open to the public you must wear a mask to enter the building and follow the recommended CDC guidelines. Please call the Public Works office to report any problems or requests – phone number is 228.863.0440. Public Works office hours are 7 a.m. – 3:30 p.m., but someone will be on call after hours, if an emergency arises.

Long Beach Senior Activity Center is open you must wear a mask to enter the building, temp checks to attend daily and follow the recommended CDC guidelines.

City parks, the dog park and the splash pad are all open although outdoor facilities are shared and cannot be sanitized in between use.

Long Beach Public Library is open you must wear a mask to enter the building and follow the recommended CDC guidelines.

Long Beach Municipal Court will still be holding court as usual. No court dates have been postponed or canceled at this time.

In staying within the guidelines set by the state and local government, we will continue to follow our current procedures:

1. Place check or money order in an envelope marked “Court” with your full name & date of birth in the City of Long Beach Water Dept’s drop box located on the front of city hall.
