Dr. Christian Pinnen Will Speak At Pass Christian Historical Society June Luncheon
The Pass Christian Historical Society will hold its monthly luncheon on Monday, June 27th at 12 pm (Noon).
Dr. Christian Pinnen will speak on Slavery in Colonial Natchez: Cotton, Race and Wealth Before the Old South”. As a scholar of the colonial borderlands with a particular focus on race relations and slavery in Natchez, Dr. Christian Pinnen has written, researched and published on the subject for the last decade. He is the author of Complexion of Empire in Natchez: Race and Slavery in the Mississippi Borderlands and Colonial Mississippi: A Borrowed Land. This presentation is sponsored by the MS Humanities Council Speaker Bureau
The Historical Society is located at 201 East Scenic Drive in Pass Christian. Copies of Dr. Pinnen’s books will be available for purchase through Pass Christian Books.
An optional lunch is offered and starts at 12pm (noon). If those attending would like to have lunch the cost is $12 for members and $15 for non-members and they will need to make a reservation by 5pm on Friday, June 24th.
