Historical Society monthly luncheon set for July 25 & August 22
Special to The Pass Post
The Pass Christian Historical Society will hold its monthly luncheon on Monday, July 25th at 12 pm (Noon).
The Society’s Archivist, Bruce Stinson, will speak on 19 th Century Pass Christian as revealed through newspaper accounts.
While the broad outline of our history is widely known -- the colonial land grants, the arrival of the Americans, the antebellum resort, the “Battle” of Pass Christian, the quick postwar recovery with the coming of the railroad and the Northern tourist. – newspaper accounts add a lot of texture. In addition to highlighting some accounts, Mr. Stinson will also talk about the effort to document our history as a town and share the information.
The Historical Society is located at 201 East Scenic Drive. Copies of Cuevas’ books will be available for purchase through Pass Christian Books. An optional lunch is offered and starts at noon. Reservations are required for lunch, which is $12 for members and $15 for non-members. To make a reservation for lunch, call 228-452-7254. For more information, call Wendy Allard of the Programs Committee at 228-342-5438.
