Science Café on the Coast to Host “Mississippi Sharkology: Taking a Bite Out of the Myths”
Science Café on the Coast, a collaboration between The University of Southern Mississippi Gulf Coast Libraries, Harrison County Library System, Long Beach Public Library, the Hancock County Library System, Infinity Science Center and Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College. Science Café on the Coast will host a presentation on “Mississippi Sharkology: Taking a Bite Out of the Myths” on Monday, September 12th at 4pm at the Gulfport Public Library, 1708 25th Avenue, Gulfport, MS. Our speaker will be Dr. Jill Hendon, Director of the Center for Fisheries Research and Development at the University of Southern Mississippi’s Gulf Coast Research Center. Come and learn the facts (not myths) about sharks. This presentation includes the opportunity for “hands on” interaction with shark artifacts.
This event offers those with minimal background in science the chance to meet and discuss scientific issues in a relaxed social setting.
