The Long Beach Breeze Forms Community Advisory Board

Posted

The Long Beach Breeze is excited to announce the formation of the Long Beach Breeze Community Advisory Board, a volunteer group of citizens who will come together with Long Beach Breeze staff to help guide the development of content for the publication.

"We believe a Long Beach Breeze Advisory Board will help us strengthen our brand as a hyper-local, community-based Gulf Coast newspaper," said Clay Mansell, publisher.

"We also see this new initiative as a volunteer board of citizens to help enhance a vibrant Long Beach community, so we predict it will be a win-win for our newspaper, the Friendly City and local readers," continued Mansell.

“Our mission for this board ties directly into our main mission,” said Mansell. “For a town to be its best, it needs a source of information that binds us together as friends and neighbors - a community. We look forward to this board helping us make that community even stronger with ‘Good News We Can Use!’”

Plans are to start the board with up to ten Long Beach residents who will offer suggestions regarding the content of the publication, both for the in-print monthly edition and on social media.

The board is expected to meet quarterly in person and stay in touch via emails and Zoom meetings.

"After two years, the Long Beach Breeze is clearly a community-based newspaper with a focus to effectively deliver the news, but also showcase its hometown," Mansell said. "Whether you are on the Advisory Board or not, we always invite your feedback."
