The Gulf Coast Veterans Association (GCVA) is working hard to finalize plans for the 2nd Annual GCVA Pass Christian Veterans Day Parade, designed to not only honor veterans and active duty service members, but also to bring the community together to celebrate what makes the country great. This year’s parade will be held on Saturday, November 9, at 11 a.m. in downtown Pass Christian, with a parade route that is the same as last year’s.
Those who would like to participate in the parade are encouraged to complete a registration form at forms.gle/AGUjvFEYB6YFVzxB7.
Those who are marching in the parade are asked to be at the staging area no later than 10:15 a.m. For questions about marching in the parade, contact Cari Fowler at 601-951-8923. The staging order for marchers will be sent out the evening prior to the event.
Food trucks and vendors are asked to decorate their vehicles or trailers as patriotically as possible. And be set up no later than 9:30 a.m. Trailers will need to be detached from vehicles to maximize space for all eight food trucks. The staging areas for food trucks and vendors will be on the south side of Scenic Drive on the southeast corner of the War Memorial Park, and points of contact for are Chris Colbert at 228-731-2795 and Sherry Hough 228-870-0571.
The parade will be preceded by an 8 a.m. 5K race beginning at War Memorial Park. Registration includes an event t-shirt, snacks and drinks. To register, visit RunSignup.com and search for races in Pass Christian. For more details, email us at bslrunco@gmail.com.
