Congressman Guest Announces Search for Student Artwork to be Displayed in the United States Capitol

Posted

Congressman Michael Guest (MS-03) announced that his office will participate in the Congressional Art Competition for the second consecutive year. High school students in Mississippi’s Third Congressional District are invited to submit their artwork for the competition, through which one piece of artwork is selected as the winner and will be displayed in the United States Capitol for one year. Last year’s winner, Abigail Gulland, was a senior at Germantown High School when her artwork was selected as the winner of the Congressional Art Competition by a panel of judges.

“Mississippi is home to many talented students, and this competition helps display that talent on a national stage,” Guest said. “It’s a source of pride to see the artistic talents of our students. On my way to the House floor, I walk by the winning selections from across our nation, and I’m reminded of the artistic talent our state has to offer.”
