GRAB YOUR HAT AND READ WITH THE CAT AS JUNIOR AUXILIARY OF GULFPORT HOSTS READ ACROSS AMERICA DAY

Posted

Students at Anniston Elementary in Gulfport will join millions of their peers across the country to celebrate the twenty-second annual National Education Association’s (NEA) Read Across America Day on Friday, March 2, 2020.

NEA’s Read Across America Day, which celebrates Dr. Seuss's birthday and the joys of reading, expects more than 45 million readers, both young and old, to pick up a book and read. To honor the good doctor and celebrate the fun and value of reading, the Junior Auxiliary of Gulfport has invited elected officials and community leaders to read to each of the Kindergarten through second grade classes.

“We hope to show the students of Anniston Elementary that reading can be fun with Dr. Seuss and create a positive memory to encourage them to keep reading,” said JA Gulfport member, Torie Clark.
