The Pass Post

Pass Christian will once again be visited by the Grinch for the annual Christmas in the Pass celebration, but he is not expected to be able to put a damper on any of the holiday spirit that will fill the town.

Set for Friday, December 6, from 4 until 9 p.m., the festival will transform the heart of Pass Christian into a winter wonderland.

Along with the Grinch, there will be a “Whoville” set up near Hancock Bank, with a screening of The Grinch Who Stole Christmas at the celebration.

Along with food and music, the “Kids Zone in Sazerac Square” will offer children’s activities. Festival-goers can also expect to find live animals, photo stations, arts and crafts and more along Davis Avenue. Santa is also planning to visit, and will make himself available for photos in the Hancock Bank Annex during the event.

The Christmas parade will roll out in the downtown area at 6 p.m., followed by the arrival of Santa and the Lighting of the Town Christmas Tree at the Davis Avenue Pavillion at 6:30 p.m.

Attendees can enjoy music managed by DJ Art Scafide beginning at 6:45 p.m. Music will conclude at 8:30 p.m., and the evening will wrap up with a holiday fireworks display at 8:30 p.m.

Admission is free, and local businesses will be open for holiday shopping and dining.
