Theatre in the Pass presents The Lady with All the Answers

The Pass Post

Theatre in the Pass, with a goal of bringing live theatre to Pass Christian residents and neighbors in surrounding coastal communities and cities, will present The Lady with All the Answers, the story of Esther Pauline “Eppie” Lederer, more commonly known as the advice columnist “Ann Landers.”

Set for May 29 through June 8, the show, written by David Rambo and directed by Jennifer Shea, stars Susan Sanborn. It chronicles the life of Lederer, who took over the Chicago Sun-Times’ “Ask Ann Landers” column in 1955. For almost five decades, readers wrote to Ann with questions about everything, and Lederer responded with answers about topics ranging from household upkeep to politics to even more complex and sometimes uncomfortable ones.

The one-woman show, set in 1975, was written by Rambo based on Lederer’s life stories and letters and with the cooperation of Margo Howard, Lederer’s daughter.

Performances will be held at the Randolph Center on 315 Clark Avenue. Show times are 7:30 p.m. on May 29-31 and June 6-7. Two Sunday matinees will be offered on June 1 and June 8 at 2 p.m. Tickets are $20 for general admissions, $15 for seniors and students.
