The next concert is scheduled for Friday, June 6, with a free, live performance by the Starz Band. On Friday, August 1, 2nd Class Citizens will be performing., followed by the Project band on September 5, and the concert series will wrap on Friday, October 3, with a live performance by the Shea Michael’s Duo.
Seating will be available, but concert-goers can also opt to bring their own chairs and spreads to enjoy the outdoor musical events, which begin at 6:30 p.m. Before each show, classic car lovers and enthusiasts can rev up beforehand at the City’s Cruise-In along Jeff Davis Avenue, where antique vehicles and classic beauties are on display each month beginning at 6 p.m.
And, for those who prefer two wheels, the First Thursday Community Bicycle Rides rolled out on May 1. Residents and visitors are invited to join each month’s ride, through the month of October. The event is open to people of all ages and offers a safe, easy-paced loop through the heart of Long Beach. Participants meet at the Town Green at the intersection of Jeff Davis Avenue and Third Street on the first Thursday of each month. After each ride, there’s an optional Dutch treat dinner stop for those who wish to dine locally. The remaining ride dates are June 5, July 3, August 7, September 4 and October 2. Riders meet at 6 p.m. for these group rides.
