After several quiet years without a full arts program, Pass Christian High School is once again bringing creativity and expression to the forefront of student life. Slowly but surely, Pirate Nation is  reigniting the spark of the arts that has long been part of the community’s proud history. Last year marked the first steps of this exciting revival with the return of visual art classes to the high  school curriculum. This year, the momentum continues with the introduction of a brand-new theater program, designed to add a touch of drama, imagination, and performance to students’ daily  lives.

Leading this exciting new chapter is Mr. John Haman, who joined the Pass High faculty this fall as the head of the theater program. With valuable experience in performance, Mr. Haman brings  both passion and expertise to the stage, inspiring students to explore their voices, creativity, and confidence. Under his direction, the newly formed theater class has been hard at work, learning the fundamentals of acting, stage direction, and collaboration—all while preparing for their very first production.

After weeks of rehearsals filled with laughter, practice, and a few opening night jitters, Pass High’s theater students are ready to make their debut with the one-act play Our Place. This heartfelt and thought-provoking production tells the stories of six individuals whose lives intersect in meaningful and unexpected ways. The performance invites the audience to reflect on connection,  belonging, and the simple beauty found in shared human experiences.

The premiere of Our Place on Thursday, November 13th, and Friday, November 14th, marked a milestone moment for the school’s growing arts department. The cast and crew have poured  countless hours into memorizing lines, perfecting stage movements, and building sets—all to deliver this brilliant performance that showcases their dedication and creativity.

Administrators, teachers, and students alike are thrilled to see the arts return to Pass Christian High School in such a vibrant way. The reintroduction of theater not only enhances the school’s  academic and extracurricular offerings but also strengthens its mission to cultivate well-rounded, expressive, and confident students. The hope is that this year’s success will lay the foundation for  even larger productions and community events in the years to come.

With art and theater once again taking center stage, Pirate Nation is proudly embracing a renewed commitment to creativity, culture, and excellence. The curtain is rising on a new era at Pass  Christian High School—one that promises to keep the spirit of the arts shining brightly for years to come.
