Pirate Palooza 2025: Where Community Spirit and Culinary Skills Unite

The halls of Pass Christian High School were alive with excitement Monday night as the community gathered for one of the most anticipated events of the year — the annual Pirate Palooza  fundraiser. The evening was a true celebration of school spirit, local talent, and community pride, featuring an abundance of delicious food, lively entertainment, and good-natured competition.  This year’s event once again proved why Pirate Palooza is one of the most beloved traditions in the district.

The centerpiece of the evening was the crowd-favorite Chili Cook-Off, which drew a wide range of competitors — from local businesses and civic leaders to student organizations and families.  Teams showcased their best recipes, hoping to earn one of the coveted titles of the night. The air was filled with the irresistible aroma of simmering chili as guests made their way from table to  table, sampling a variety of unique creations. Some were spicy, others creamy, but all were crafted with enthusiasm and a dash of friendly rivalry.

After a heated competition and plenty of taste testing, Keepin’ Up with the Jones took home the prize for Best White Chili, wowing the judges with their perfectly balanced flavors. The Pass  Christian Fire Department once again proved their cooking skills extend beyond the firehouse, claiming the title of Best Red Chili with a bold, hearty entry that impressed everyone. Meanwhile,  Pass Christian Central Office stole the spotlight and the crowd’s hearts, earning the People’s Choice Award for their own white chili creation.

The fun didn’t stop there — the creativity of the teams was on full display in the table decorations and costumes that brought extra energy to the competition. Student Council, partnering with The Juicy Caboosy, claimed the honor of Best Themed Table, dazzling visitors with their adventurous setup. Not to be outdone, Texas Roadhouse’s own Andy Armadillo charmed the crowd and easily  won Best Costume, adding a touch of whimsy to the night’s festivities.

Beyond the cook-off, Pirate Palooza offered entertainment for all ages. Local musician Christopher Anderson provided a live soundtrack for the evening, filling the air with upbeat tunes that kept  guests tapping their feet as they explored everything the event had to offer. Attendees browsed a generous selection of silent auction items, entered the split-the-pot raffle, and placed their bids in  the always-popular cake auction, where gourmet desserts sparked some friendly bidding wars.
