PCMS football team crowned Division 3 champs
Special to The Pass Post

Pass Christian Middle School football team has been named the 2025 Division 3 Middle School Champions.
The Pass Christian Middle School (PCMS) Pirates are officially Division 3 Champions, finishing their season recently with a 19–0 victory over the Magnolia Tigers. Coaches say the win was especially sweet, as Magnolia had handed the Pirates one of their toughest losses earlier in the season — but this time, Pass Christian came ready to make history.
School officials say this marks the first Division 3 championship for PCMS since 2020, a testament to the team’s hard work, determination and growth throughout the season. The players’ resilience and unity shone through as they battled back from adversity to claim the title.
CJ Shoulders, the starting running back for the Pirates, said “This couldn’t be done without the whole team. The defense, the offense, the special teams, the coaches – everything comes together to make us who we are. And we are Pirates!”
School officials say the victory also holds deep meaning for the program and community, serving as a moment that would make the late Coach Kevin Woods incredibly proud. Woods, who passed away in mid-2023, worked in the district coaching middle school basketball and football for over thirty years, in addition to other duties and community involvement. His influence, leadership and passion for the game continue to inspire the players and coaches who carry on his legacy each time they take the field.
