The Pass Christian Middle School robotics team showcased their innovation and teamwork at the recent VEXIQ Tournament held at St. Martin, competing against top teams from across South Mississippi and surrounding areas. This year’s challenge, titled “Mix and Match,” tested students’ problem-solving and engineering skills as robots worked together to collect, sort and stack colored blocks to score points in a fast-paced, collaborative match format.
The PCMS A Team rose to the challenge, demonstrating precision, creativity and communication. Their efforts paid off as they captured the Teamwork Champion Award, earning them a spot at the State Championship in Jackson — and with strong hopes of advancing to Worlds later this year.
Coach Kaleb Jefcoat praised the team’s dedication and growth throughout the season.
“These students have put in countless hours fine-tuning their designs, coding and teamwork,” said Jefcoat. “I couldn’t be prouder of the way they’ve represented Pass Christian Middle School. Their determination and collaborative spirit have truly set them apart.”
Pass Christian School District officials say they continue to lead the way in supporting STEM-oriented learning, offering students opportunities to design, build and compete while also celebrating the same passion, drive and teamwork seen in athletics.
