Ahead of the State Legislature reconvening in 2026, longtime District 120 Mississippi Congressman Richard Bennett said he was happy to share some good news recently that literally hits close to home.

On December 9, the state congressman, who represents Long Beach and other local areas, proudly announced that his son Patrick Bennett has been named Administrator of the Year for the Long Beach School District. Patrick Bennett serves as the CTE Center Director in the school district.

“My heart – and Tricia Bennett’s heart – is absolutely overflowing with pride tonight,” Richard Bennett stated when the official announcement was made about his son’s honor. “This recognition is especially powerful, as the Long Beach School District is the top-ranked district in the state of Mississippi. It truly reflects Patrick’s exceptional commitment to the students and staff.”

“We know firsthand how hard he works. Patrick has dedicated his life to his faith, his family, the students in the district and the citizens of Long Beach, where he proudly serves as an alderman,” Bennett continued.

Patrick Bennett is following in his father’s footsteps in the political arena, serving locally as the Ward 1 Alderman for the City of Long Beach, but he is also blazing his own trail, as evidenced by his role as the CTE Center Director in the Long Beach School District. The CTE Center is where high school students are trained and prepared to join the workforce immediately upon graduation in fields that include engineering, welding, construction and many other fields.
