Pass Christian Women’s Soccer Loses a Tight One to West Lauderdale
By Charlie Rook
The Lady Pirates entered a quarter final match up with West Lauderdale High School as the underdogs, after losing 1-0 to the team earlier in the season. The team came up just short once again, in what was a 2-1 victory for the Knights.
Pass Christian defeated both Richland and McComb in the first two rounds to earn the right to play West Lauderdale in the quarter final. The Knights entered the match up after back to back wins, where the team scored a combined 31 goals, and conceded none.
The Lady Pirates gave West Lauderdale all they could handle, but the improbable victory wasn’t meant to be, as Pass Christian couldn’t find the equalizing goal in the second half.
It was Amelia Coolidge who found the back of the net for Pass Christian, as she secured herself two points on the night.
The team will now shift their focus into the off season, while West Lauderdale enters a semi-final contest with Bay High School.
