Jeep enthusiasts and community members are getting in gear, preparing for yet another Blessing of the Jeeps event set to roll out at St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church in Long Beach on Saturday, April 11, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Organizers say the family-friendly event draws more and more people to Long Beach each year, and more people than ever are expected to roll in for this year’s event, the 6th Annual Blessing of the Jeeps.
Jeepers from the local area and beyond will enjoy a few hours of food, fun in the sun and fellowship, along with various games and activities. As the event wraps, Jeepers will line up behind St. Thomas Catholic Church to get a blessing from church clergy for a safe Jeepin’ season.
Blessing of the Jeeps continues to serve as a community-driven fundraising event, with proceeds benefiting the Life Teen of St. Thomas Catholic Church, supporting youth programs and activities that make a meaningful difference in the lives of local teens.
“Blessing of the Jeeps has always been about bringing the community together – Jeepers, families and friends for a day that’s fun, meaningful and centered around giving back,” says Blessing of the Jeeps founder Jan Currie. “We’re excited to welcome everyone again this year and continue to support a great cause through Life Teen.”
St. Thomas Catholic Church invites not only Jeep owners but also members of the wider Long Beach community and beyond to attend, whether to receive a blessing for their Jeep, support the showcasing participants, or simply enjoy a classic springtime gathering. Organizers emphasize that the event is open to everyone, regardless of religious affiliation, and aims to foster unity and fellowship.
