Elysian Salon and Spa, established in 2017 in Pass Christian, is a full-service, hair and nail salon that also offers contouring massage and medi-spa treatments.
“We’re a small-town salon and spa, but we do high-end services for beauty and wellness,” co-owner Bach Kimball said. “It’s one of those one-stop-shops in this little town.” Kimball focuses on the business aspect of Elysian, while her business partner, Lindsey Fowler, focuses on the hair salon side.
Elysian also offers other aesthetic and wellness services, such as Botox and fillers, weight loss management, hormone replacement therapy, wellness shots and hydration stations.
“Our motto is ‘High-end beauty with small-town service and charm,’” Kimball said.
After moving to Pass Christian in 2020, Kimball became a regular customer at Elysian, which was currently just operating as a hair salon. She developed a relationship with Fowler while working alongside her at a nonprofit ministry and later went on to co-own the business with her. When the neighboring bungalows were constructed and the adjacent Allstate insurance office vacated its space, Kimball and Fowler took the opportunity to expand Elysian, doubling its size and adding more services. The newly renovated salon and spa opened on January 31, 2025.
“Now, with the added space and the added service providers, we can actually accommodate more and provide those services to the tourists that come,” Kimball said.
Their client base is comprised of Pass Christian locals, as well as tourists from northern Mississippi and beyond.
“With the people just visiting and coming to the Airbnbs and the bungalows, we just have an influx of tourists,” she said.

Elysian draws both casual Pass Christian tourists and out-of-town clients who appreciate Elysian’s prices. By offering luxury services with reasonable rates, the salon attracts customers from larger cities looking for affordability and high quality.
Although Kimball graduated with an English major, she was always interested in business. She also owns a restaurant in Los Angeles, California, and brings lessons from the big city back to Pass Christian.
“I see all of the beauty stuff that happens in the big city, and we bring that high-end level service,” Kimball said. “We’re very exposed to it, and we want to be able to make that impact here in southern Mississippi.”
Kimball attributes her success across these various industries to her efficiency, self-discipline and sense of gratitude. Growing up in Vietnam and later moving to the United States, she views work as a privilege that she might not have had otherwise.
“I want to make the most of my life, and I feel so blessed because every day when I do go to work, I never feel like it’s work,” Kimball said.
She strives to foster that same sense of purpose and fulfillment among her employees by creating a supportive, mentorship-focused environment.
“I have a fulfilling sense when I feel like I can share some of my knowledge, share some of my skills, and just some of my ‘know how,’” Kimball said. “And I love to just inspire people, because I never want anybody to be a failure.”
For Kimball, success begins with finding happiness and contentment in whatever one chooses to do, and she is especially committed to instilling that belief in her nine-year-old daughter.
“She’s my number one priority outside of the business, and I want to try to make her a successful and happy person, regardless of what she decides to do in life,” she said.
Kimball has many goals for Elysian. She hopes to continue expanding the business, fill every stylist chair and introduce the advanced Morpheus procedure [a skin rejuvenating procedure].
“That is a huge financial investment, and we would have to get a doctor involved with that for my aestheticians,” Kimball said. “It’s something that other plastic surgeons have, and it’s one of those services that is the gold standard. If we could acquire that and get a doctor to back us up on that, that would be a really big deal for us.”
She also looks forward to continuing to mentor her young staff of stylists.
“They’re just so cutting edge and always trying to keep their skills up, so, without them, the salon would not be where it’s at,” Kimball said.
