School district honored with Beacon award

Pass Christian School District (PCSD) was recently given the Beacon Award from the Mississippi School Board Association at the Lighthouse Awards luncheon. The award was earned by the District’s high performance and was accepted on behalf of the entire Pirate Nation by School Board President Margaret Jean Kalif, Board Secretary Walter “Skip” King, Pass Christian Middle School Principal Jedadiah Mooney, and PCSD Superintendent Carla Evers. At the event, Evers and Mooney presented a session called “A Place for Everyone,” which focused on the importance of having a mental health focus in schools.
