LONG BEACH INVITES COMMUNITY TO ENJOY WEEKEND EVENTS

The City of Long Beach invites residents and visitors to take part in several exciting community events happening this week and weekend in downtown Long Beach and at the Harper McCaughan Town Green.
On Thursday evening, the community is invited to participate in the First Thursday Bike Ride in downtown Long Beach. This monthly event encourages residents of all ages to enjoy an evening bike ride through the city while promoting community engagement and outdoor activity.
The fun continues Saturday morning with Yoga in the Park, a free community yoga class hosted by The Energy Club. The class will begin at 9:00 a.m. at the Harper McCaughan Town Green and is open to all experience levels. Participants are encouraged to bring a yoga mat or towel and enjoy a relaxing morning outdoors.
Also taking place Saturday is the Root Beer and Bacon 5K in downtown Long Beach. Race day check-in and registration will begin at 7:00 a.m., with the race officially starting at 8:00 a.m. The event brings together runners, walkers, and spectators for a fun-filled morning in the heart of the city.
“These events are a wonderful opportunity for our community to come together, support local activities, and enjoy all that Long Beach has to offer,” said Mayor Tim Pierce. “We encourage everyone to come out and participate.”
