Construction is steadily moving forward on the Hotel Whiskey development in downtown Long Beach, where signs have recently been installed on the front of the development.
Located near the corner of Jeff Davis Avenue and Fourth Street, the boutique hotel project has been in development for several years and officially broke ground in early 2025. Since then, crews have maintained consistent progress, with visible structural work taking shape on the multi-story building.
The hotel is designed as a three-story boutique property featuring approximately twenty-seven to thirty hotel rooms, depending on final buildout plans. Developers expanded the original concept to include an additional floor, increasing both capacity and the overall scale of the project.
The development is part of the broader expansion of the Hotel Whiskey brand, which already operates several locations along the Gulf Coast. The Long Beach site is expected to follow the same boutique model, offering unique accommodations tailored to both tourists and business travelers.
Originally projected as a roughly $5 million investment, the project has grown significantly in scope, with estimates now reaching closer to $8 million as plans evolved. This increase reflects enhancements in design, size and overall amenities.
Developers have previously indicated a target completion timeline that could have the hotel opening as early as later this year, depending on construction progress and weather conditions.
