Blessing of the Fleet Returns to Pass Christian Harbor June 27

Coastal residents and visitors are invited to celebrate one of the Mississippi Gulf Coast’s longest-running maritime traditions when the 48th Annual Blessing of the Fleet takes place Saturday, June 27, at Pass Christian Harbor.

The free public event will be held from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the harbor, located at 115 Market St., and will feature a day of family-friendly activities honoring the region’s rich commercial and recreational boating heritage.

A highlight of the event will be the ceremonial blessing of commercial and recreational vessels, a tradition that seeks safe travels and prosperous seasons for those who make their living on or enjoy the waters of the Gulf Coast. The annual event has become a cherished gathering that celebrates the area’s maritime culture and fishing industry.

Festivities will include a Kids Fishing Rodeo Tournament, the announcement of the King Fisherman, performances by the Bay Ratz, additional live music entertainment, local vendors through Pass Markets, and food and refreshments available for purchase.

Organizers encourage attendees to bring lawn chairs and spend the day enjoying live music, community fellowship and waterfront views along the harbor.

The Blessing of the Fleet has become a staple of summer celebrations in Pass Christian, drawing residents and visitors alike to honor the Coast’s longstanding connection to the seafood and maritime industries. The event serves as both a celebration of local traditions and a recognition of those who work on the water throughout the year.

Admission is free, and all members of the public are welcome to attend. Additional information is available through the event’s official Facebook page and community event listings.
