Theatre in the Pass Teens to present “The Great Gatsby”

The next production of Theatre in the Pass will delight audiences with an adaptation of the F. Scott Fitzgerald’s story The Great Gatsby by playwright Gary Peterson. The performances capture the glamour, the opulence, and dance parties of the Roaring 20s, and like the original classic exposes how wealth, materialism, and decaying moral values corrupted the American Dream.
In this story, the mysterious Jay Gatsby’s desire for wealth, popularity, and power hides his love for Daisy, the woman he met and fell for years before but who married wealthy Tom Buchanan. When Daisy’s cousin, Nick Carraway, happens to move next door to Gatsby, he soon finds himself to be a liaison between Gatsby and Daisy.
Though not a musical, popular 1920s music selections will be presented during the evening.
“The Great Gatsby” is being produced by special arrangement with Pioneer Drama Service, Denver, Colorado. It will be directed by Paige Ladner with Assistant Directors Gail Trahan and Matt Bankston. Technical Director is Matt Bankston and Production Manager is Gail Trahan.
Performances will be held at Randolph Community Center (315 Clark Ave.) July 16, 17 at 7pm and July 18 at 1pm and 5 pm. Tickets are $20. Season Passes, tickets, and sponsorships are available on our website https://passmainstreet.com/theatreinthepass-2/
