PCMS 6th Grade and Chemours Collaborate to Bring STEM Learning to Life

Sixth-grade students at Pass Christian Middle School recently had the opportunity to connect classroom learning with real-world STEM experiences through a collaboration with Chemours. This partnership has provided students with an opportunity to explore science, technology, engineering, and mathematics beyond the traditional classroom setting for several years. Students participate in hands-on activities and have the opportunity to interact with Chemours professionals. Sixth grade Science students, led by Science Teacher Mrs. Amber White were able to see how concepts they are learning in school connect to careers and challenges in the real world.
The collaboration reflects PCMS’s commitment to excellence which includes preparing students to become critical thinkers, problem-solvers, and college and career ready learners. By connecting students with professionals and community partners, PCMS continues to provide meaningful learning experiences that encourage students to ask questions, investigate problems, and consider future opportunities in STEM-related fields.
Chemours representatives also played an important role in helping students make connections between their academic studies and the work of scientists, engineers, and other STEM professionals. The collaboration emphasized the importance of curiosity, teamwork, communication, and problem-solving—skills that students can carry with them throughout their academic and professional journeys.
The experience is another example of the impact that community and industry partnerships can have on student learning. PCMS appreciates Chemours for investing in local students and helping provide opportunities that inspire the next generation of STEM learners.
Pass Christian Middle School looks forward to continuing to build partnerships that expand learning opportunities and help students recognize the many possibilities available to them as they prepare for the future.
