Some were equipped with Bibles, others were pushing strollers. All were unified and on the same mission – to sing, glow and march in celebration of their faith.
The Lighthouse Harbor of Long Beach sponsored a walk titled “Light in the Darkness,” on Friday, September 4, along the sandy shores of the beach just south of Highway 90 in Long Beach.
Dozens gathered at this location, as did others at beach walk sites throughout the Mississippi Coast, to pray, sing and praise. Some wore glow-in-the-dark jewelry or held light sticks, while others carried banners, all to unite those of the Christian faith throughout South Mississippi at the start of the Labor Day weekend.
The Lighthouse Harbor is being formed to be a Christ-centered fun community to help bear one another’s burdens without booze. The organization says it is currently awaiting the Lord’s provision of a building for this purpose – a place for games, music, comedy, art, performances and more.
