LBSD honored with partnership award

The Long Beach School District (LBSD) was recently honored with the 2026 Governor’s Award for Exemplary Partnerships, presented by the Mississippi Association of Partners in Education, in recognition of the district’s collaborative efforts as a valued 2025–26 Community Partner of the Mississippi Schools for the Deaf and the Blind (MSDB). The award, accepted by Special Education Director Curtis Wicker, reflects the district’s commitment to working alongside MSDB to ensure students with specialized needs have access to the support and resources necessary to thrive in the traditional classroom setting whenever possible. District officials say they “extend our sincere appreciation to our Special Education Department for their unwavering dedication, compassion, and tireless efforts in making this important work possible. Through strong partnerships and a shared commitment to student success, we continue to create inclusive learning environments where every child has the opportunity to reach their full potential.”
