Pass Christian Middle School Provides Enrichment During Fall Break Intersession

Creativity, discovery, and hands-on experiences took center stage during Pass Christian Middle School’s (PCMS) three-day Fall Break Intersession. Students explored new interests, expressed their individuality, and connected with the world around them through engaging enrichment activities beyond the traditional classroom.
A visit to Twisted Canvas gave our Pirate Learners an opportunity to explore their artistic talents while celebrating a special connection to their coastal community. Inspired by the rehabilitated sea turtles released along the Pass Christian beachfront through the partnership between the City of Pass Christian and the Institute for Marine Mammal Studies, students created colorful sea turtle paintings. Their artwork brought together creativity, self-expression, and an appreciation for the marine life found along our Mississippi Gulf Coast.
The creative adventures continued with a pottery-painting experience at Keesler Air Force Base, where students transformed pottery pieces into personal works of art. Choosing colors, experimenting with designs, and adding individual touches gave students opportunities to make creative decisions and take pride in their finished pieces.
Throughout the intersession, students enjoyed opportunities to try something new, connect with classmates, and build confidence through hands-on exploration. These experiences encouraged curiosity and imagination while showing students the many ways they can discover and develop their talents.
PCMS extends a heartfelt thank-you to the teachers and staff who dedicated part of their Fall Break to making these experiences possible. Their time, enthusiasm, and care helped create memorable opportunities for our Pirate Learners.
The Fall Break Intersession reflects our district’s commitment to nurturing the whole child through enriching experiences that inspire creativity, strengthen community connections, and spark new interests.
