Long Beach High School endured a difficult outing Friday night, falling 49–10 to Pearl River Central in a late-season matchup.

The Bearcats struggled to contain a Pearl River Central offense that produced 49 points, while Long Beach managed 10 points of its own.

The defeat continued a challenging stretch for Long Beach, which has faced difficult competition throughout the 2026 season.

Pearl River Central’s offensive production created a significant obstacle for the Bearcats, who were unable to generate enough scoring opportunities to keep pace.

For Long Beach, the result underscored the importance of defensive consistency against opponents capable of putting points on the scoreboard.

The Bearcats have shown offensive potential at different points this season, including a 30–10 victory over Bay earlier in the campaign. However, Friday’s matchup proved more difficult, with Pearl River Central establishing a substantial advantage.

As the regular season nears its conclusion, Long Beach will look to identify areas for improvement while continuing to develop its younger players.

Games against challenging opponents can provide valuable experience for a program seeking to build toward future seasons.

Although the scoreboard reflected a difficult night, the Bearcats will look to use the result as motivation moving forward.

Long Beach’s focus now turns toward finishing its remaining commitments and establishing a foundation for continued improvement.

Friday’s 49–10 defeat marked another test for the Bearcats, who will look to respond positively as their 2026 campaign progresses.
