Speed limit reduced to 25 mph on eight Long Beach roads

The speed limit has been reduced from 30 miles per hour to 25 miles per hour along several popular roadways in Long Beach. The reduced speed limit went into effect on Thursday, July 27, for East Old Pass Road, McCaughan Avenue, North and South Nicholson avenues, North Gates Avenue, Allen Road, South Cleveland Avenue and Alexander Road. 

The Long Beach Board of Aldermen recently approved the speed limit reductions, and drivers are encouraged to ease up on the gas when traveling in these areas.
