Camp Awesome’s Biggest Night Returns to Long Beach

Camp Awesome, an organization that provides overnight camps for individuals with disabilities, is having a $2,500 Drawdown Party on Saturday, March 7.  Set to start at 6 p.m. at the West Harrison County Civic Center located at 4670 Espy Avenue in Long Beach, the evening will include food, a silent auction and entertainment, and a chance to win $2,500. Additionally, there will be live entertainment and music provided by DJ Fantasy.

Each $50 ticket admits 2 adults to the event, and the drawdown is the main annual fundraiser for Camp Awesome. Only a limited number of tickets will be sold.

Camp Awesome hosts camps for both adults and children with disabilities. Adult camping weekends are held in the fall and spring, and a kids camping week is held each summer.  It costs $30,000 a year to hold the camp.  The organization relies on adult volunteers and teenage counselors to organize and run the camps, as well as on the kindness of friends, family, and strangers to support the drawdown to help raise the money it takes to put on camps. All proceeds of the drawdown go to fund Summer Camp for children with special needs.

Ticketholders do not need to be present at the drawdown to win.

The community is encouraged to support Camp Awesome by purchasing a ticke through PayPal or Venmo – or by reaching out to someone selling tickets for cash or check.
