The Pirates of Pass Christian were defeated 3-2 on February 17th in the Mississippi 4A Championship semi-final, by Bay High School. This defeat ended the impressive playoff run for the Pirates, and marked their second loss by just one goal against Bay.

Pass Christian fell behind 2-1 in the first half of this one, however did enough to score the tying goal in the second half. The score after the final whistle blew was 2-2, leading to an overtime period. Unfortunately for Pass Christian it was Bay high school that found the back of the net advancing them to the 4A State Championship.

These teams had met two times before this with Bay winning both by scores of 3-0 and 1-0. The favorite coming in, Pass Christian forced Overtime but couldn’t complete the upset. Noah Roche was the team’s leading goal scorer this season, bagging 13. The senior has completed his final game with the team.

Bay went on to lose the championship 3-0 against New Albany, who were crowned 4A state champions. Pass Christian will now regroup and look forward to next season.
