Kids and firefighters team up for Summer Splash Day
By Toni Miles
For several months now, youngsters have been cooling off at the Splash Pad located at the Harper McCaughan Town Green in downtown Long Beach.
On Saturday, July 11, local kids beat the heat alongside members of the Long Beach Fire Department for the City of Long Beach’s Summer Splash Day.
Youngsters played in the cool water springing up and out from the splash pad and also took time out to check out a fire truck parked nearby. Some kids even pitched in, helping the firefighters spray the hose.
This is the third year the City of Long Beach has partnered with the Long Beach Fire Department for the annual Summer Splash Day.
The splash pad is open from May to October, weather permitting.
