Fire Station #3 could be complete by February

Posted

Government officials say it won’t be long before a new fire station in west Harrison County will be serving the local area. Construction on Fire Station #3, located on Johnson Road next to the Industrial Complex in west Harrison County, could be complete as soon as February.

Once complete, the City of Long Beach will have three full-time firefighters providing increased fire protection in the area.

The project is a coordinated effort between Harrison County and the Long Beach Fire Department. The new facility will be better manned and will enable the area to keep its current fire rating. It could possibly help improve the current fire rating, which, in turn, may reduce the overall cost of fire insurance coverage for residents in the area.

The new fire station replaces the old, mold-ridden one that was previously located at the Johnson Road site. Demolition of the old facility began in the summer of 2022 to make way for the new and improved fire station.
