Posted

The Hancock County Port and Harbor Commission recently welcomed high school career coaches from Hancock, Pearl River and Harrison Counties to tour Port Bienville Industrial Park. Throughout their visit, the career coaches toured Point 8 Power, Alpek Polyester and SABIC, gaining insights into each industry and respective workforce.

Port Bienville Industrial Park marks the first stop on a three-part series of industry tours that career coaches will participate in to gain connections between career coaches and the manufacturing sectors located in Hancock County.

Suzy Gilmore, a career coach from Pass Christian High School commented, "We are truly astounded by the hidden gem of opportunities that are available to not only future industrial partners, but also to our students and the communities we serve. Career coaches from sixteen high schools are planning to take this information and share it with students, who are the next generation of employees and industrial leaders; and we will work in partnership with business and industry in Hancock County to engage students who are graduating and going straight into the workforce after high school while sharing the opportunities that await them as they navigate and explore their future careers. We believe that Hancock County is the industrial destination for future growth offering great opportunities in both career and economic expansion.”
