Magnolia Gulf Coast Beta Club participates in Leadership Summit

Posted

National Beta members from the elementary, junior and senior divisions of the Magnolia Gulf Coast Beta Club (MGC Beta) recently participated in the Mississippi State Regional Leadership Summit. They were announced as qualifiers of the following challenges: elementary: Project Proposal and Collaboration Connection; juniors: Lead Outside the Box and Collaboration Connection; seniors: Project Proposal, Collaboration Connection, and Lead Outside the Box.

National Beta Leadership Summits bring together students from multiple states for one- to two-day events. During that time, students work with interactive speakers who engage members through introspective exercises and team-building activities. Clubs can also participate in team-based leadership challenges which test their communication, critical thinking, creativity, presentation and collaboration skills. Their victories at this level provide the opportunity to compete at the national level. The National Convention will be held at the Savannah International Convention Center in Savannah, Georgia, during the summer of 2024.

MGC Beta is a group of homeschool students in fourth through twelfth grades from across the Gulf Coast area.  Members who attended the Mississippi State Regional Leadership Summit from the elementary division include Micah Cameron of Gulfport, Hailey Dial of Long Beach, Abigail Dillard of Gulfport, Luke Dillman of Long Beach and Wyatt Nelson of Ocean Springs.
