Posted

Long Beach High School's Ethan Myers and Alexander Mink were recently named to Scorebook Live's All-State Boys Soccer team. Both players were key cogs in the Bearcats' second consecutive MHSAA Class 5A State Championship team. Myers and Mink were also the Mississippi Gulf Coast's only representatives on the First Team.

Myers, a junior midfielder, scored four goals and dished out four assists this season. He assisted one of Vincenzo Jeanfreau's two goals in a 2-0 win over West Jones in the South State Championship Game. In the Championship game against New Hope, Myers scored the tying goal in the first half. The Bearcats eventually won the game 4-1.

Mink, a sophomore defender, tallied an assist and anchored a Bearcat defense that notched 13 shutouts this season. His assist was a big one, as it came in the South State Championship Game against West Jones.

Both players will be returning to try and help the Bearcats continue their stranglehold over Class 5A Soccer in South Mississippi. This past season, the team finished unbeaten against Class 5A opponents and compiled a 17-2-1 record overall. In that classification, the Bearcats have now won each of the last five South State Championships as well as the last two State Championships.
