Winners in the Voice of Democracy Patriots Pen Essay Competition and Teachers of the Year were recently announced by VFW Post 3937. They included Briana Carver, a student at Harper McCaughn Elementary School, who not only won the essay competition for Post 3937, but was also named the district winner and was runner-up to the state winner.
Harper McCaughn Elementary School student Jacob Taylor also won the essay competition for Post 3937 and was additionally named the district winner.
Naomi Rutledge was named Elementary Teacher of the Year, and Matthew Garvin was named High School Teacher of the Year.
