Science Café on the Coast set for Nov. 17

On Friday, November 17, Science Café on the Coast will host a presentation on “Living Shorelines” at 2 p.m. at the Orange Grove Public Library in Gulfport. Speakers will be Dr. Eric Sparks and Sara Martin with the Coastal Marine Extension Program. Their talk will address how living shoreline projects can reduce or reverse erosion and how they can help the environment.
Science Café on the Coast is a collaboration between The University of Southern Mississippi Gulf Coast Libraries, the Harrison County Library System, the Long Beach Public Library, the Hancock County Library System, the Infinity Science Center and Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College. It is designed to offer those with minimal background in science the chance to meet and discuss scientific issues in a relaxed social setting.
