LONG BEACH RAILROAD CROSSING IMPROVEMENT PROJECT UPDATE

The City of Long Beach is announcing upcoming changes to the schedule for the ongoing railroad crossing improvement project. Due to utility lines interfering with planned work at the Nicholson Avenue intersection,  Moran Hauling will shift efforts to several other railroad crossings while utility companies work to relocate their infrastructure.

Engineering firm Neel-Schaffer and Contractor Moran Hauling has coordinated with the paving subcontractor to move forward with crossings that require only asphalt resurfacing. Work on these crossings will cause traffic alterations and periodic closures to ensure safety and efficiency.

The updated railroad crossing schedule is as follows:

Crossing Location Scheduled Dates

South Lang Avenue April 7 – April 9
Trautman Avenue April 10 – April 11
Girard Avenue April 14 – April 16
Beach Park April 17 – April 18
White Harbor April 21 – April 25

Motorists are encouraged to plan alternate routes during this period and follow posted signage for detours and safety guidance.

The City appreciates the community’s patience and cooperation as this infrastructure work continues to improve road safety and connectivity.
