Long Beach and Pass Christian Square Off After Big Wins
The Long Beach Bearcats return to the field Tuesday evening to face the Pass Christian Pirates in a matchup set for 5:30 p.m., with both teams carrying strong momentum into the contest.
Long Beach comes in riding an 11-match winning streak after delivering a decisive defensive performance last Friday. The Bearcats shut out Picayune 6-0, continuing a run that has established them as one of the more consistent teams in the state. Long Beach played with confidence and control, limiting opportunities and capitalizing on its depth across the field. The victory improved the Bearcats’ record to 14-3-1 and reinforced their reputation as a disciplined, well-rounded squad.
Pass Christian is also coming off an impressive result, earning a 3-0 win over Greene County on Thursday. That victory marked the Pirates’ eighth straight win against Greene County and showcased their ability to strike from multiple positions. Amelia Coolidge, Margaret Morvant, and Zaria Acher each found the back of the net, highlighting a balanced attack that has fueled Pass Christian’s success this season. The Pirates now stand at 12-8 and appear to be finding their rhythm at the right time.
The teams last met in November 2024, when Long Beach secured a 2-0 win. That result gives the Bearcats a recent edge in the series, but it also adds motivation for a Pass Christian squad eager to change the outcome. With both teams playing confident soccer and coming off convincing victories, Tuesday’s match sets up as a competitive test that should provide a clear measure of where each program stands as the season continues.
This match will be live streamed on the NFHS Network, the official streaming partner of the MS High School Activities Assn. (MHSAA) & Long Beach High School.
