Long Beach Live Concert Series is back in full swing

The Long Beach Live Concert Series is back in full swing and will hit a fevered pitch the first Friday of every month this summer as bands put on a free performance at the Harper McCaughan Town Green Pavilion at 7 p.m. Before each live performance, locals and visitors alike can enjoy a cruise-in at 5 p.m. along Jeff Davis Avenue, where antique and vintage vehicles will be on display.
Hosted by the City of Long Beach, the popular community concert series returned to the Harper McCaughan Town Green Pavilion amphitheater on Friday, May 1, with a live performance by the D Jr. and the Shine Soul band.
Each concert is free, open to the public and held in the heart of downtown Long Beach, and attendees are encouraged to visit local businesses and to eat at restaurants in the area on concert days.

Concert-goers are also encouraged to bring lawn chairs for additional seating at the concerts, which City officials say showcase regional musicians.
The concerts are traditionally held on the first Friday of each month at the Town Green amphitheater from 7 p.m. until 9 p.m. Organizers describe the series as a “family fun” atmosphere designed to encourage people to spend time outdoors while enjoying live entertainment.
Long Beach Live was first established in 2011 with the goal of promoting local talent and encouraging growth in the City’s downtown district. Since then, the concerts have become a signature coastal event, drawing residents and visitors from across South Mississippi for evenings of music, food and community gatherings.
