Residents invited to celebrate with special march on Sept. 4
Special to Long Beach Breeze
The Lighthouse Harbor of Long Beach will sponsor a celebratory march on Friday, September 4, beginning with a gathering at 6 p.m. Individuals can join host groups at various locations along Harrison County beaches to, according to organization officials, “sing, ‘glow’ and march in celebration of the Lord’s goodness to us.”
“Join the fun and honor our LORD Jesus Christ on the Gulf Coast shoreline this [Labor Day] holiday weekend,” said Emmie Chasteen, of The Lighthouse Harbor. “March and sing to exalt the LORD Most High!
Participants are asked to wear bright clothing, with reflective clothing encouraged, as well as consider adding glow-in-the-dark jewelry and banners to the items brought. Many host groups will share a meal on the beach at 6 p.m.
Participants should check with their host leader about meal plans and parking.
The march will start promptly at 7 p.m. and last for one hour. Groups are encouraged to continue hanging out together following the march.
More information is available in the FAQ pages on the group’s Facebook at Facebook.com/groups/864180813423837/.
Those who want to join the free event are asked to select a host group in their area from the Facebook page, and then contact the group to be added to the participants list.
The Lighthouse Harbor is being formed to be a Christ-centered fun community to help bear one another’s burdens without booze. The organization says it is currently awaiting the Lord’s provision of a building for this purpose – a place for games, music, comedy, art, performances and more.
