Pass Christian Opens Season With Dominant Win Over Long Beach

The Pass Christian Pirates started their 2026 season with an impressive performance Friday night, defeating the Long Beach Bearcats 48-3 on the road.

Pass Christian controlled the game behind a strong rushing attack led by quarterback Paris Trivillion. Trivillion rushed for 209 yards and four touchdowns on just 11 carries, averaging 19 yards per attempt. He also completed nine passes for 140 yards and another touchdown through the air.

The Pirates finished the night with 299 rushing yards as a team. Cecil Lizana added 68 yards and a touchdown on 10 carries, helping Pass Christian control the game on the ground.

Long Beach struggled to slow down the Pirates’ offense throughout the night and was held to just three points in its season opener. The Bearcats entered the year looking to bounce back after a difficult 2025 season in which they finished 1-9.

For Pass Christian, the win continues the momentum the Pirates built last season. Pass Christian finished 11-2 in 2025 and went undefeated in district play to win the Class 4A Region 8 championship. After more than doubling its win total from the previous season, Pass Christian entered 2026 looking to put together another successful year.

Friday night’s result moves Pass Christian to 1-0 while Long Beach begins the season 0-1.

Both teams will now turn their attention to their next matchup. Pass Christian returns home Friday night to face Purvis as the Pirates look to improve to 2-0.

Long Beach will also be at home Friday night when the Bearcats take on Forrest County Agricultural. After a difficult opening matchup, Long Beach will look to bounce back and pick up its first win of the season.
